A Richmond woman has lost her life after a residential fire early this morning.
Richmond RCMP and Richmond Fire-Rescue arrived at a home in the 8700 block of No. 1 Road, between Blundell and Francis roads, around 3:30 this morning.
The lone occupant of the home, a woman in her 60s, was found unconscious inside. Emergency crews were unable to revive her.
Further details are currently being withheld pending notification of next of kin. In a news release, police said the fire does not appear to have been suspicious in nature. Richmond Fire-Rescue and the BC Coroners Service continue to investigate.
