B.C. reports 199 new COVID-19 cases, six deaths

B.C. health officials reported 199 new cases of COVID-19 today. Since the pandemic began, B.C. has recorded 353,578 cases.
Of the new cases, 18 are in the Vancouver Coastal Health region (including Richmond), 52 in the Fraser Health region, 43 in the Island Health region, 72 in the Interior Health region, 14 in the Northern Health region, and no new cases of people who reside outside of Canada.
There are 290 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 and 46 are in intensive care.
To date, 11,434,211 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Pfizer Pediatric COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in B.C.; 4,332,040 of those are second doses and 2,636,246 are third doses.
This means that 93.7 per cent of adults, 93.4 per cent of people aged 12 and older, and 90.8 per cent of people aged five and older have received their first dose of a vaccine. In addition, 91.4 per cent of adults, 90.9 per cent of those aged 12 and older, and 86.9 per cent of those aged five and older have received two doses; 58.7 per cent of adults and 56.9 per cent of those aged 12-plus have received three doses.
Sadly, there were six new COVID-related deaths reported today, bringing that total to 2,966. Of those who died, one lived in the Fraser Health region and five in the Island Health region.
Health authorities reported one health-care facility outbreak over. Active outbreaks continue at six long-term care facilities and one acute care facility.
From March 10 to 16, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 17.2 per cent of cases. From March 3 to 16, they accounted for 26.2 per cent of hospitalizations.
