Books have never been more popular.

In fact, it seems that during the pandemic reading has become such a favourite pastime that book sales have surged.

The Friends of the Richmond Library is affording you the chance to stock up at its late summer sale Aug. 28 outside the Cambie branch at 150-11590 Cambie Rd (near the corner of No. 5 Road).

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., another weather-dependent sidewalk sale will feature a great selection of gently-used books ranging from fiction to children’s, Chinese language, and many non-fiction categories.

“All are priced individually,” explains Pat Ng of the Friends of the Richmond Library, who reminds patrons that sales are cash only with all proceeds benefitting the Richmond Public Library.

Ng also asks all patrons to bring their own bags or boxes, and due to COVID-19 advises also wearing a face mask. Physical distancing of two metres (six feet) between patrons is requested, with hand sanitizer provided.
