B.C. reports 395 new COVID-19 cases

B.C. health authorities reported 395 new cases of COVID-19 today, two of which are epidemiologically linked. Since the pandemic began, B.C. has recorded 153,313 cases.
Of the new cases, 61 are in the Vancouver Coastal Health region (including Richmond), 100 in the Fraser Health region, 31 in the Island Health region, 187 in the Interior Health region, 15 in the Northern Health region and one new case of a person who resides outside of Canada.
There are 3,284 active cases of COVID-19 in B.C. and 71 of those people are hospitalized, 23 of whom are in intensive care.
To date, 7,087,736 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in B.C.; 3,274,116 of those are second doses.
This means that 83 per cent of adults and 82.1 per cent of people aged 12 and older have received their first dose of a vaccine. In addition, 72.5 per cent of adults and 70.6 per cent of those aged 12 and older have received two doses.
There were no new virus-related deaths reported today.
Active outbreaks continue at seven long-term care facilities.
