Saturday’s splash of rain may be last precipitation we’ll see in Richmond for a while.
Having already experienced record high temperatures earlier this summer, Richmondites are in for some more hot days this week.
After a pleasant couple of days in the mid-20s Celsius today and tomorrow, Environment Canada is forecasting a quick climb with the mercury reaching 26 on Wednesday, 29 on Thursday, and 28 on Friday before backing off to 25 on Saturday and 24 on Sunday. But with humidity and full-on sun, those temperatures could feel more like 30 or more.
The normal high for the period is around 22.
While no formal alert has yet been posted, the City of Richmond says on its website that while warm and sunny weather is a treat, hot temperatures come with certain risks. It advises everyone to be safe in the heat and stay informed about heat-related health risks. A map is included showing the location of water fountains and places to stay cool in the city.
